We meet each Sunday at 10 AM from house to house to encourage and edify one another through song, prayer, Bible study, and observation of the Lord's Supper. Children are more than welcome, and are given a chance to share God-centered thoughts or songs during our Sunday meetings. The location varies from NW Austin to Leander, etc. Check our event calendar for more details about where we meet each week. E-mail us at just_christians@yahoogroups.com if you would like more information or directions.
Authors: Use this page to post more details about our Sunday meetings. You might want to recap what we discussed one week, or provide everyone with a preview of what to expect in an upcoming week.
Today when we met we discussed the format and some details that we will try to implement starting next Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBasically, a different person will be responsible for directing the "reverent worship, edification, and memorial of the Lord's Supper" each Sunday. I will be taking it next Sunday (9/5) and Lonnie will take it the Sunday after (9/12).
As far as the open discussion and study time, we will have a monthly rotation, which Lonnie will be taking for the month of September.
Starting next Sunday we'll be discussing and studying the idea of thankfulness and contentment (This will also be the theme for the "Assembly" time this coming Sunday, but the assembly and study time do not have to necessarily match every week).
Finally, we ask that everyone (male and female, young and old) contribute to the assembly by emailing the person responsible for directing the assembly by Wednesday of the previous week and suggesting a song, prayer request, and/or scripture that may be read by the person directing the assembly, or by the person suggesting the contribution.
-Side note: guys, please let me know if you can take an upcoming Sunday for assembly, or an upcoming month for class facilitation.
Hope that's clear, feel free to add anything I may have overlooked or gotten wrong.
Thanks,
Brent
this sunday's topic will tie in with our ongoing discussion of contentment and thanksgiving. i want to spend a little extra time focusing on the scriptures pertaining to our attitude towards poverty and riches. if you have scriptures or songs in mind that pertain to this, or even if you have unrelated song/scripture requests, please let me know.
